Joseph Omo-Osagie

Board Member

Joseph Omo-Osagie has been involved in community outreach, social justice, and mental health for the past 38 years. Joseph recently retired from Parkland College after 20 years, where he supported marginalized students and taught courses on psychology, trauma, somatic healing, and cultural dynamics. In addition to his academic role, Joseph served as faculty advisor for the International Students Association, helping foster inclusivity and cultural appreciation.

In the community, Joseph continues to advocate for restorative justice, and has previously worked with Champaign County Operation Snowball and the Urbana School District. He also teaches alternative healing practices. His programs, such as "Drumming for Your Health," underscore his belief in holistic well-being. 

A certified cross-cultural facilitator and mental health first-aider, Joseph’s work is grounded in building strong, compassionate communities.

He holds a Master’s in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a BA from the University of Illinois.
