Caryn Curry, LCSW
Board Member
Caryn Curry, LCSW, is Director of Organizational Excellence at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR). Her thirty-plus years of experience as a social worker includes clinical practice, program development, and management in hospital, residential, community, and educational settings. At the Center, Caryn leads the CCR team’s journey toward sustained excellence, focusing on organizational culture and integrity, leadership development, and quality. In addition, she builds the capacity of schools and other youth-serving organizations to develop trauma-informed, healing-centered systems and practices, providing consultation and training to partners through a foundation of cultural humility, responsiveness, and equity. She has managed partnerships with school districts such as North Chicago School District 187, Champaign School District Unit 4, and organizations including the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana and the Golden Apple Foundation. She is also a faculty lead for the National Center for Safe Supportive Schools (NCS3). She has successfully integrated trauma-responsive practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) into educational settings, ensuring culturally responsive and equitable approaches that promote positive school climates.
Caryn currently serves on the Steering Committee of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).
Caryn holds a BA from Harvard University and an MS in Clinical Practice from the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice at the University of Chicago (formerly the School of Social Service Administration).
